Japanese artisan Takayoshi Yamanami formed Detaj in 1995 after seeking something more from the world of jewellery. Steering away from traditional and decorative concerns his main focus is in finding beauty within functionality and structure. Regardless of gender Takayoshi's handcrafted creations address the individual. His creative process always starts by developing a feeling for the material, by endless trials, and by making the most of the properties of metal. All Detaj jewellery is hand made in his workshop.
